Short vlog videos are fantastic for attracting clients at the top of your sales funnel. Don't expect to makes sales directly from your vlogs alone. That is not what they are here for. Vlog videos on social media act as a turbocharger pushing large numbers of potential clients into your sales funnel. Social Media Vlog Videos:
30 seconds is all you have for a successful social media vlog posts! A 30-second video is approximately a quarter of an A4 piece of paper. If your script is longer than a quarter of a page it is too long.
Like any good story, your video scripts need a beginning, middle, and an end.
Ask a question
Make a bold statement
Or challenge your audience
Doing one of these at the start of your video will push your audience from passive to active.
Once your audience is active and engaged you can let the audience know why they should invest their time in you. Quickly (1 sentence max) let them know who you are and why you are qualified to help. Remember you only have 30 seconds in total for the video. You don’t need to spend too much time explaining who you are because on social media it's really easy for people to click on your profile and find out more for themselves.
Give useful answers to customer pain points. This part can be a subtle sales pitch but don’t oversell in every video.
People are less likely to share, like or comment on a sales pitch than an educational or entertainment video.
Some of your videos will be 100% education, some will be 100% sales and others will be a hybrid.
You need a mix. No-one wants to be connected to "that sales guy" but also you want people to know that you have something to buy and that you can help your audience with that product or service.
You need a call to action. What do you want the audience to do after watching your video? People are unlikely to buy off the back of watching one video however they may be happy to head over to your blog, YouTube channel, or sign up for the lead magnet/discovery call via your website.
Just a note, if you have created an educational video a hard sell call to action at the end of the video may do more harm than good.

Ask for people to follow, share and like the video
Drive people to your long-form content such as your website, podcast, YouTube videos or blog
Drive people to a lead magnet
It's important to remember that your 30-second vlog video is the start of the conversation, it’s up to your sales funnel to link up and to move the prospective clients to the next stage.
